Download
the DVD Shrink executable file and the Imageburn executable file to a convenient
location on your hard drive, such as the Desktop.
Run the file marked
burn.exe first to install.
Then run file shrink.exe to install that
also.
All of the default settings should be satisfactory for normal use.
Click on the DVD Shrink shortcut to open the program.
Insert a
DVD into the drive. Click on 'OPEN DISC' if you have more than one CD/DVD drive
make sure that the correct one is selected, and click on OK.
The disc
will then be analysed which may take several minutes, and prepared to write to a
standard single layer blank DVD.
Once this action is completed, click on
'BACKUP' You should then see a window giving you several options.
The
First will be 'SELECT BACKUP TARGET' If it is shown choose 'ISO IMAGE FILE AND
BURN WITH IMGBURN' If not select the default one of 'ISO IMAGE FILE'
Then select a location for the file, making note of that location.
Then click 'OK' the encoding process will begin and may take several
minutes.
Once completed if 'ISO IMAGE FILE AND BURN WITH IMGBURN' was
selected ImgBurn will start up.
You will be asked to remove the original
disc and insert a blank DVD.
At the top of the ImgBurn window you will
see 'SOURCE' If it is not already showing navigate to the iso image file that
you have just created using the folder icon with the magnifying glass.
Then click on the Green Arrow to the bottom of the window, burning of
the DVD should then commence.
If you selected 'ISO IMAGE FILE' then
replace the original disc with a blank DVD and click on the ImgBurn shortcut on
your desktop.
Again select the source image file as above and proceed.
If the ImgBurn tells you that it cannot gain exclusive acces to the
Burner, open the Windows Task Manager and End the Windows Media Player Process.
This only appears to be a problem with Windows Vista.
